Job description: Job Description:Location: Lagos, NigeriaWork Schedule: HybridOur client is a leading fintech company licensed to provide international payment solutions for businesses in Africa.The company is seeking to hire a strategic, commercially astute Chief Financial Officer to lead its corporate finance agenda and guide the company through its next phase of growth. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in fundraising, deal structuring, M&A, and investor management, complemented by a solid understanding of financial operations in a regulated financial technology environment.This role is ideal for a CFO who thrives in high-growth environments and is ready to shape capital strategy, drive valuation, and structure complex deals to support product expansion, market entry, and corporate development.Key Responsibilities:Corporate Finance & Fundraising:§ Lead capital planning, equity/debt fundraising, and investor engagement efforts to fuel strategic growth.§ Structure, negotiate, and close financing rounds, joint ventures, and strategic investments.§ Drive financial due diligence, valuation modeling, and investment memoranda for internal and external stakeholders.§ Build and maintain strong relationships with VC/PE firms, investment banks, family offices, and institutional investors.Strategic Financial Leadership:§ Partner with the CEO and Board to shape long-term financial vision and capital strategy.§ Provide insights and data to guide investment decisions, unit economics, and business model optimization.§ Lead scenario modeling for new markets, product launches, and strategic partnerships.Financial Operations & Control:§ Oversee core finance functions, including accounting, tax, compliance, FP&A, and financial reporting.§ Ensure internal controls, financial integrity, and adherence to all relevant local and international regulations (CBN, SEC, FIRS, FCA, etc.).§ Drive automation and operational efficiency across finance processes and systems.M&A & Corporate Structuring:§ Evaluate and execute inorganic growth opportunities, including acquisitions, mergers, and strategic alliances.§ Lead post-deal integration and financial impact analysis.§ Structure holding company and subsidiary frameworks for fiscal and operational optimization across jurisdictions.Investor Relations & Board Management:§ Serve as the key liaison with investors and board members on financial strategy, business performance, and capital needs.§ Develop investor reports, board decks, and performance scorecards to ensure transparency and trust.Requirements§ First degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or relevant Master’s preferred.§ Professional certifications: ACA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent.§ 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including 5+ years in senior roles with strong exposure to capital raising, corporate finance, or investment banking.§ Experience in fintech, digital banking, FX, or cross-border payments is highly preferred.§ Proven ability to raise capital, negotiate term sheets, manage investor syndicates, and close complex deals.§ Strong command of financial modelling, valuation, corporate structuring, and regulatory reporting.§ Entrepreneurial mindset with high emotional intelligence and excellent stakeholder management skills.BenefitsCompensation: Pay ranges BTW N60m – N100m per annum net plus Other interesting benefits/packages
