Design Engineer at Nigerian Foundries Group


Nigerian Foundries Group is a 53-year old reverse engineering group of companies that offers tailor-made products and solutions to the West African Industries. We produce ferrous & non-ferrous castings, test/counter weights, a variety of fabrications and components made by additive manufacturing (3D Printing). In addition, we have heat treatment, pattern making and machining facilities.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Design Engineer

Location: Ogun

Employment Type: Full time

Role Overview

  • As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role in driving innovation and supporting production through high-quality technical designs and prototypes.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing and leading the full design process from ideation to production. 
  • You will draw new designs and update our current designs. 
  • During the creation process, you will ensure that our designs meet all necessary design responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct reverse engineering to reproduce or improve existing components
  • Create accurate and efficient mechanical designs for casting and machining
  • Produce detailed technical drawings using CAD software
  • Support 3D printing and prototyping processes
  • Collaborate with production, R&D, and quality teams to ensure designs meet functional and manufacturing requirements.
  • Interpret existing technical drawings and create new ones using recognized industry standards and conventions

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to manage projects independently or as part of a cross-functional team
  • Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
