Gongola Health and Development Initiative is an NGO here in Jalingo Taraba State, with a physical office here in Jalingo. The NGO is registered with all appropriate bodies and has the legal backing and document to operate here in Nigeria. Her mission is in community health projects as well as empowerment programs. Recently, its one of the few local NGOs that got shortlisted by NYFF for a youth empowerment project in Taraba State.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Location: Taraba
Key Responsibilities
- Designing and Implementing M&E Systems: Developing frameworks, tools, and procedures for monitoring and evaluating program activities.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gathering and analyzing data from various sources, including surveys, interviews, and existing databases.
- Providing Technical Support: Offering guidance and training to staff on M&E principles and practices.
- Learning and Improvement: Using evaluation findings to inform program adjustments, improve performance, and ensure sustainability.
- Managing Databases: Maintaining and updating M&E and information management systems (MIS).
- Collaborating with Stakeholders: Working with project managers, program staff, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective data use.
- Evaluation Planning: Developing and implementing evaluation plans, including selecting indicators, designing data collection methods, and setting up analysis processes.
- Reporting: Preparing reports on program progress, outcomes, and impact, often in a clear and accessible format.
- Monitoring Progress: Tracking progress against planned targets, identifying potential bottlenecks, and making recommendations for adjustments.
Skills and Qualifications
- Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with 2-20 years experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: The ability to interpret data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Experience in data collection and analysis: Proficiency in using statistical software and techniques for data analysis.
- Experience with relevant software and databases: Familiarity with M&E software, MIS, and data management tools.
- Experience in a specific sector or program area: Depending on the specific role, prior experience in a relevant field may be required.
- Background in project management or program evaluation: Useful for roles involving overseeing the implementation of M&E systems.
- Skills in data visualization: The ability to present data in a clear and engaging manner.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills: The ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Knowledge of M&E principles and frameworks: Understanding of different evaluation methodologies and data collection techniques.
- Strong organizational and time management skills: The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
