We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Account Executive
Location: Matori, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: Finance Manager
Supervises: None
Job Purpose
- Manage the company’s financial records, reporting, and statutory compliance in line with Nigerian laws, tax regulations, and applicable accounting standards, while supporting operational efficiency and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare monthly/annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cost analysis to support management decisions.
- Implement strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data accuracy.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulators as required.
- Ensure timely filing and payment of VAT, WHT, PAYE, Company Income Tax, and other statutory obligations.
- Monitor compliance with Nigerian tax laws, Pension Reform Act, and CBN regulations where applicable.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Timeliness and accuracy of financial statements and statutory returns
- Full compliance with Nigerian tax and pension regulations
- Budget variance control
- Audit clearance with minimal queries
Qualifications & Experience
- HND / B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACA, or ACCA) is will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, pension schemes, and regulatory compliance.
- 3 – 5 years accounting experience, preferably in Group, FMCG, or Financial Institutions in Nigeria.
Core Competencies:
- Sound knowledge of Nigerian accounting and tax regulations.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in IFRS application within the Nigerian context.
- Strong analytical, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
