GOALPrime Organization Nigeria (GPON) is a policy-driven humanitarian, non-governmental organization that implements her program through a revitalized partnership. It is a non-profit organization with a mandate of making the lives of vulnerable people better, those affected by disaster or crisis. GPON is presently operating in the Northeastern regional part of Nigeria where we have reached over 100,000 lives with relief materials, child protection services. GBV mitigation services, livelihood skill-building, health services, and Education support services.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Information Management Officer

Location: Abuja (with travels to Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, Katsina, Zamfara, and Kaduna States).

Duration: 12 months (renewable)

Purpose of the Position

  • The Information Management Officer will be responsible for supporting the development, customization, and management of digital applications, databases, and dashboards for GPON programmes.
  • This includes designing and maintaining data systems, producing analytical products, and ensuring data is collected, stored, and visualized in ways that support programme implementation, monitoring, reporting, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development & Management:

  • Assist in developing and customizing web and mobile applications for programme data collection, monitoring, and beneficiary tracking.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot GPON’s existing digital platforms, including EduTrack and Humanitarian Response Analytics Platform (HRAP).
  • Ensure integration of GPON platforms with relevant sector-wide data systems.

Database & Dashboard Management:

  • Build, update, and maintain programme databases.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards (using Power BI, Tableau, or similar) for real-time data visualization.
  • Ensure all data systems comply with GPON’s data protection and confidentiality protocols.

Data Collection & Analysis:

  • Support the design of data collection tools using platforms such as KoboToolbox, ODK, and SurveyCTO.
  • Conduct data cleaning, verification, and analysis for programme monitoring and reporting.
  • Produce regular infographics, maps, and data summaries for management, donors, and partners.

Technical Support & Capacity Building:

  • Train field teams and partners on digital tools, data entry, and reporting procedures.
  • Provide day-to-day technical troubleshooting support to data collection teams.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Research and recommend cost-effective technology solutions to improve data processes.
  • Test and adapt new digital tools to meet emerging programme needs.

Expected Deliverables:

  • Operational and regularly updated programme databases.
  • Monthly data and analytics reports for management and donors.
  • Minimum of two staff training sessions per quarter on data tools.
  • Functional and user-friendly GPON data collection applications.
  • At least two real-time dashboards for programme performance tracking.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in information management and/or application development.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Experience with digital data collection platforms (KoboToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO).
  • Good understanding of humanitarian or development programme data needs.
  • Strong skills in at least one programming language (PHP, JavaScript, Python, Flutter, or similar).
  • Experience with database management (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar).

Desirable:

  • Experience in GIS mapping (ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • Knowledge of Education in Emergencies (EiE) or Child Protection data systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
