Gas Tech International Limited is a Compressed and Natural Gas organisation situated along the Sagamu-Ore expressway in Ilisan, Ikenne local government area, Ogun State and recruiting for the role of a community liasion officer.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Community Liaison Officer

Location: Ilisan, Ogun

Employment Type: Full-time

Position Summary

  • A Community Liaison Officer (CLO) plays a vital role in building and maintaining relationships between an organization and the host community.
  • The role involves engaging community stakeholders, addressing concerns, supporting corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and promoting mutual understanding to enhance the company’s operations and reputation.
  • The ideal candidate will be proactive, approachable, and skilled at conflict resolution.

Key Functions

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, local authorities, and stakeholders.
  • Act as first point of contact between the company and host communities.
  • Facilitate dialogue, identify and address community concerns, grievances, and or needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Resolving conflicts: CLOs resolve conflicts and issues that may arise between the organization and the community.
  • Preparing periodic reports on community engagement, providing insights that can inform organizational decision-making.
  • Supporting community projects and initiatives that align with the organization’s goals and values.
  • Managing stakeholder expectations, ensuring that the organization’s actions are aligned with community needs and values.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree in Social Sciences, Public Relations, community Development, or a related field.
  • 3-6 years ‘experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement, or social performance (Oil and Gas/Energy Sector, or CNG experience is an added advantage).
  • Knowledge of local cultures, languages, and socio-economic dynamics.
  • Strong organisational and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in MS office packages (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint).
  • Proven ability to manage conflicts and build trust with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
