Job Title: Head of Procurement

Job Summary
- The Head of Procurement will be responsible for leading, developing, and executing the procurement strategy to ensure cost-effective purchasing, supplier management, and contract negotiations.
- This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive efficiency while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Vacancy Description
Strategic Procurement & Planning:
- Contribute to the development and drive implementation of a robust procurement strategy aligned with FrieslandCampina’s objecives
- Drive cost optimization through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and process improvements.
- Monitor industry trends, risks, and opportunities to strengthen procurement practices.
Supplier & Vendor Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, reliability, and competitiveness.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and manage contracts, ensuring favorable terms and compliance.
- Lead supplier performance reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for procurement performance.
- Manage risks related to supply chain disruptions, pricing volatility, and contractual obligations.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
- Promote collaboration with finance, operations, supply chain, and other business units.
- Drive capability development within the procurement function.
Operations & Process Optimization:
- Oversee procurement operations across all categories (direct and indirect spend).
- Ensure timely availability of materials, products, and services while minimizing risk and cost.
- Implement technology and tools to improve procurement efficiency, transparency, and reporting.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA is an advantage).
- Proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and cost optimization.
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, contract law, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in procurement systems/ERP tools.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS) strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10–12 years of progressive procurement/supply chain experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
