We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Safety Officer
Locations: Wasimi, Ewekoro, Abeokuta – Ogun, Lagos, and Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, standards, and procedures across all operational sites.
- Conduct safety inductions and regular toolbox talks for drivers, workshop staff, and other employees.
- Work closely with operations to ensure driver compliance with road safety standards.
- Liaise with external regulators, clients, and partners on safety matters.
- Maintain records of safety incidents, inspections, and compliance audits.
- Train staff and drivers on defensive driving, fire safety, first aid, and emergency response.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen Ecologique’s safety culture.
- Carry out daily inspections of trucks and work environments to ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, documenting findings and corrective measures.
- Ensure compliance with Lafarge, NBC, and other client safety requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian safety regulations and road traffic rules.
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
- Strong interpersonal and training facilitation abilities.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in safety management within logistics, manufacturing, or transport sector.
- Professional HSE certification (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
