Job Overview
- The Securities and Derivatives Intermediate Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for processing orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations – Transaction Services team.
- The overall objective of this role is to facilitate the clearance, settlement and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions.
Responsibilities
- Process securities transactions, provide analytic input for traders and aid in review of derivative products
- Handle of all transactions and associated assets of acquired Mutual Funds with key understanding of all rules and legal provisions of the agreements setting up the Fund
- Coordinate all processes involving the settlement of Global Depository Receipts bearing in mind all risk issues relating to settlements, liquidity and operational processes
- Monitor and process trade settlements through Euroclear and the associated corporate action payments
- Responsible for all regulatory reporting to Central Bank of Nigeria, Nigeria Stock Exchange, Security and Exchange Commission and ensuring that all specified deadlines are met
- Utilize data analysis tools and methodologies, in conjunction with professional judgement to make process improvement recommendations
- Resolve settlement related issues and escalate as needed; recommend solutions to resolve complex issues
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree / University Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting, or Finance
- Demonstrated comprehension of Treasury products, accounting and regulatory policies
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- A Master’s Degree in business or any business related professional qualification – ACIB (Associate Chartered Institute of Bankers), ACS (Associate Chartered Stockbrokers), ACA (Associate Chartered Accountants) will be an added advantage.
- 8 – 10 years of post qualification experience with at least 7 years in Banking
