- We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Account Officer who will serve in the capacity of a Credit Control Officer.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, monitoring receivables, and ensuring effective credit control processes to minimize the risk of bad debts and improve cash flow.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Duties:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain ledgers.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Process invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers.
- Maintain an accurate filing system for financial documents.
- Monitor petty cash and prepare monthly cash reports.
- Support internal and external audits as required.
Credit Control Duties:
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable to ensure prompt customer payments.
- Review customer credit limits and enforce credit control policies.
- Follow up with clients on overdue invoices and resolve payment issues professionally.
- Maintain up-to-date records of debtors and generate aging reports.
- Liaise with the sales and operations teams to ensure credit compliance.
- Recommend accounts for legal action or write-offs when necessary.
- Prepare regular reports on credit status and outstanding debts.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of HND or B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- 2 – 4 years of experience in accounting and/or credit control roles.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles and practices.
- Good understanding of credit management processes and debt recovery strategies.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity.
- Knowledge of Nigerian tax and financial regulations is an advantage.
Preferred Attributes:
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Team player with a proactive and results-driven approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with customer account reconciliation and documentation processes.
Salary
N140,000 – N200,000 monthly.Method of Application
