- We are seeking an experienced and strategic Accountant who will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, supporting financial operations, and contributing to the company’s financial strategy.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting, with the ability to support business planning and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations:
- Manage daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with best practices and regulatory standards
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Ensure timely payroll processing and compliance with statutory deductions (PAYE, pension, etc.)
- Manage tax filings (VAT, WHT, company income tax) and liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies
Finance & Strategic Support:
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
- Provide insightful financial analysis to support business decisions and performance monitoring
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and advise on cost control strategies
- Identify financial risks and propose mitigation measures
- Assist in evaluating financial implications of business initiatives and expansion projects
Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare financial reports and dashboards for management and board review
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Maintain organized documentation and filing systems for audits and regulatory purpose
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (ICAN/ACCA qualification is an added advantage)
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Zoho Books
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, payroll systems, and statutory reporting
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and presentation skills
- Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets
- Strategic thinker with business acumen
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and organizational ability
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Resides in Close Proximity to Work, Ikeja Lagos.
