Job Description
- Mavin’s Accounting Intern will provide hands-on support to the Finance team in managing day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal control processes.
- This role is ideal for a high-achieving graduate looking to build a solid foundation in accounting and finance within the music and entertainment industry.
Responsibilities
Here’s What You Will Be Doing:
- Financial Record-Keeping
- Post and update accounting records (journals, invoices, receipts, and payments).
- Ensure all supporting documents for transactions are complete and properly filed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date ledgers.
- Reporting & Analysis
- Assist with the preparation and reconciliation of financial statements and reports.
- Support in budget preparation, expense tracking, and variance analysis.
- Provide insights into financial data to support strategic decision-making.
- Audit & Compliance
- Collaborate with external auditors during audit processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and accounting standards.
- Administrative Support
- Perform administrative tasks within the finance department as required.
- Provide ad-hoc support to the Finance Manager and wider finance team.
Requirements
Bring Your Vibe:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
- Must be a current NYSC corps member.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
