Job description: Job DescriptionAre you passionate about unpacking Africa’s economic realities and producing sharp, data-backed insights that influence policy, investment, and strategic direction across the continent?We are hiring Analysts to join our high-impact Research and Advisory Department, a core engine driving the growth and development of our companies and our flagship project, the Africa Business Convention.As an Analyst, you’ll lead research and editorial work within 1-2 specialized streams across the African continent, collaborating with a dynamic team to shape the narrative and understanding of Africa’s transformation.About the DepartmentThe Research and Advisory Department is divided into six interrelated thematic streams:

• Agriculture & Food Security (AFS): Food systems, crop finance, productivity, harvest losses, commodity exchanges, and value chains.
• Banking, Investments & Capital (BIC): Central banking, investment trends, digital banking, and private equity flows in Africa.
• Power, Infrastructure & Energy (PIE): Power distribution, energy transition, oil & gas, road infrastructure, and urban policies.
• Fintech, Innovation & Technology (FIT): Cybersecurity, digital innovation, fintech growth, automation, AI, and sustainable tech.
• Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG): Sustainability, social impact, corporate governance, and community resilience.
• Editorial Oversight: Integrating research, data, and commentary into actionable insights across business and policy circles.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver timely, accurate insights and research across assigned streams for ThinkBusiness Africa and the Africa Business Convention.
• Write stories, features, and analysis using verified data, industry reports, and policy briefs.
• Monitor developments, emerging trends, and notable personalities within your assigned stream.
• Ensure proper content publishing, media selection (photos/videos), and article structuring.
• Collaborate with the editorial team to maintain high-quality output that aligns with TBA’s tone and standards.

Reporting Structure

• You’ll report directly to the Head of Research & Advisory Department.
• You’ll cover 1-2 streams and operate in a hybrid model (onsite and offsite).

Who You Are

• A researcher, analyst, journalist, or policy enthusiast with a strong grasp of one or more of the above streams.
• Adept at transforming data and policy into compelling narratives.
• Curious, analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about Africa’s growth story.
• Skilled in storytelling, content structuring, and editorial writing.
