Job Overview

  • We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Area Sales Manager to drive sales and market growth for Goonite (NG) Hygiene Product FZE within the Abuja region.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong sales acumen, a deep understanding of the consumer goods industry, and the ability to develop and execute strategies that increase product distribution, brand visibility, and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve business goals, expand market share, and enhance brand recognition for the company’s product in the assigned Area.
  • Ensure consistent product availability and visibility in key channels — open markets, supermarkets, pharmacies, and modern trade.
  • Strengthen distribution structure by developing capable sub-distributors and retail partnerships.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales representatives and Territory sales managers to meet and exceed sales targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and manage distributor sales performance, stock levels, and order cycles.
  • Drive both primary (distributor) and secondary (retail) sales within the coverage area.
  • Identify new sales opportunities and expand numeric distribution in target locations across Lagos Mainland and Ajah.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify opportunities for business expansion, understand customer needs, and stay ahead of competitors in the market.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and retailers to ensure long-term business partnerships and consistent product availability.
  • Inventory Management: Work closely with logistics and inventory teams to ensure product availability, timely delivery, and accurate stock management.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards while maintaining accurate records and reports for management review.
  • Provide accurate and timely sales reports, stock updates, and market feedback.
  • Analyze performance trends and recommend actionable strategies to improve territory results.
  • Sales Performance Monitoring: Track and report on sales performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide actionable insights to management for continuous improvement.
  • Training & Development: Train and develop sales staff in product knowledge, selling techniques, and customer service to enhance overall team effectiveness.
  • Promotions and Merchandising: Oversee promotional activities and merchandising initiatives to increase brand visibility and sales in retail outlets across the region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the Abuja market, customer demographics, and distribution channels.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in sales, with at least 1 year in a leadership role within the consumer goods, FMCG industry (experience in diapers or sanitary products is highly preferred).
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing a sales team effectively.
