Job description: Job Description:The Dangote Cement Transport is seeking an experienced and strategic candidate for the position of Assistant Divisional Director, Dangote Cement Transport. In this key role, you will support the Divisional Director in overseeing and managing the transportation and logistics operations for Dangote Cement. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient movement of products from production facilities to distribution points while maintaining high levels of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and implementing transportation strategies that align with the company’s objectives and improve service delivery.
- Oversee the daily management of transportation operations, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Monitor fleet performance, including vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, and route optimization, to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Lead and manage a team of transportation supervisors and drivers, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Collaborate with other departments such as Sales, Warehousing, and Production to coordinate logistics and address any operational challenges.
- Track transportation KPIs and prepare regular reports for the Divisional Director on performance indicators and areas for improvement.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective services.
- Participate in safety audits and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in transport technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements:Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, or any related field.
- A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in transportation and logistics management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing large fleets and optimizing transportation processes.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data, compile reports, and formulate actionable plans based on findings.
- Proficient in transport management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel as required to oversee operations in various locations.
