African Export Import Bank (Afreximbank) was established in Abuja, Nigeria in October, 1993 by African Governments, African private and institutional investors as well as non-African financial institutions and private investors for the purpose of financing, promoting and expanding intra-African and extra-African trade.
The Bank, headquartered in Cairo, the capital of the Arab Republic of Egypt, commenced operations on 30 September, 1994, following the signature of a Headquarters Agreement with the host Government in August, 1994. It has branch offices in Harare, Abuja and Abidjan and will open an East Africa branch office shortly.

Job Title: Assistant Manager, Finance (Credit Portfolio – Capital Management)

Job Summary
- The role of the Assistant Manager, Finance (Credit Portfolio – Capital Management) is to support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Bank’s capital management framework.
- The role involves analytical and operational tasks associated with credit risk-weighted assets (RWAs), economic capital, regulatory capital metrics, and capital forecasting, ensuring alignment with internal risk appetite and external regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and monitoring of the Bank’s capital adequacy metrics and frameworks.
- Assist in the assessment and reporting of credit risk-weighted assets (RWAs) under Basel and internal models.
- Maintain documentation and controls related to capital management policies and procedures.
- Assist in preparing internal and external reports on capital adequacy, including inputs to regulatory and rating agencies.
- Perform capital forecasting and scenario analysis to guide strategic and risk-based decisions.
- Collaborate with internal teams on capital impact assessments of new business and initiatives.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CFA is an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial analysis, capital management, credit risk, or related roles within financial institutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using Excel, SQL, or related financial modeling tools.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Solid understanding of Basel framework, credit risk modeling, capital planning, and portfolio analytics.
