We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Automobile Technician
Locations: Port Harcourt – Rivers & Victoria Island – Lagos
Reports to: Workshop Supervisor / Service Manager
Job Overview
- The Automobile Technician is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of vehicles in line with manufacturer specifications and workshop standards.
- The ideal candidate is technically sound, efficient, and committed to quality service delivery.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Vehicle Diagnostics & Repairs:
- Diagnose faults in engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, steering systems, and electrical components.
- Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs and servicing on cars, SUVs, and light-duty vehicles.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues and ensure accurate fixes.
- Perform test drives and quality checks before job completion.
Workshop Operations:
- Update job cards and service reports accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of assigned work areas.
- Collaborate with service advisors and parts department for efficient job flow.
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Maintenance & Preventive Care:
- Conduct periodic maintenance and inspection according to schedules.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with safety and quality protocols.
- Identify worn or defective parts and recommend replacements.
Requirements
- Possession of Trade Test Certification (Grade I, II, or III) in Mechanical or Electrical Auto Work.
- Experience with Toyota and Ford vehicles will be a strong added advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals and repair instructions.
- Good teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
- Minimum of 5 years’ practical experience in automotive repairs and diagnostics.
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems and workshop procedures.
- Hands-on experience using diagnostic tools and service equipment.
