Job description: Job DescriptionJob Title: Chief Enterprise Architect (CEA) – NigeriaIndustry: BankingLocation: NigeriaSalary: Competitive Salary Package + BenefitsRole Purpose:The Chief Enterprise Architect (CEA) is responsible for shaping and driving the bank’s long-term technology architecture vision and strategy to support its digital transformation, scalability, and business agility. This role ensures architectural governance, alignment of IT initiatives with business goals, and oversees the integration of emerging technologies within enterprise systems.Key Responsibilities:Enterprise Architecture Strategy

  • Define and maintain the enterprise architecture framework, ensuring alignment with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
  • Establish and lead an architecture governance board that oversees solution design, platform choices, and architectural decisions across the bank.
  • Champion enterprise-wide technology modernization and transformation initiatives.

Technology Planning & Integration

  • Lead enterprise-wide design and integration of core banking systems, digital platforms, data centers, APIs, cloud services, and cybersecurity infrastructure.
  • Provide guidance on technology platforms, ensuring optimal scalability, interoperability, security, and resilience.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of enterprise applications and infrastructure assets.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with executive management, business unit leaders, and technology heads to define and prioritize technology roadmaps and digital initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on technology investments, innovation opportunities, and strategic IT decisions.

Architecture Governance

  • Develop and enforce enterprise architecture standards, best practices, and frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, SABSA).
  • Conduct solution reviews and impact assessments to ensure compliance with architecture principles.
  • Oversee architectural risk management, regulatory compliance, and IT audit support.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing architecture team (enterprise, application, data, cloud, security architects).
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the architecture function.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Enterprise Architecture (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Architect).
  • Minimum of 15 years progressive experience in IT, with at least 5 years in enterprise architecture leadership roles within the financial services sector.
  • Proven experience in banking IT environments: core banking systems, digital banking, middleware, cloud adoption, and cybersecurity.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align technology with commercial strategy.
