Job Location: Abuja (FCT)Job Purpose
- To provide professional engineering expertise in the supervision and execution of road and building construction projects.
- The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage day-to-day site activities on road and building construction projects.
- Oversee project execution to ensure adherence to design, specifications, and engineering standards.
- Monitor contractors, subcontractors, and site workers to ensure compliance with project plans.
- Implement and monitor QA/QC systems across all stages of project execution.
- Inspect materials, workmanship, and processes to ensure compliance with standards and client requirements.
- Prepare and review method statements, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and QA/QC documentation.
- Prepare and review work schedules, progress reports, and technical documentation.
- Conduct quality control checks on construction materials, workmanship, and finished works.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety, health, and environmental (SHE) standards on site.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers, site supervisors, and foremen.
- Liaise with consultants, architects, surveyors, and clients for project updates and approvals.
- Manage resource allocation including manpower, equipment, and materials.
- Conduct site inspections to resolve technical issues and recommend corrective actions
- Enforce compliance with engineering codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support project planning, cost estimation, and contract administration processes.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: B.Sc. / B.Eng. in Civil Engineering (M.Sc. is an added advantage).
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in both road and building construction projects.
- Professional Certification: COREN, NSE, or equivalent recognized engineering body certification.
- Proven track record in site supervision, project execution, and compliance with engineering standards.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Proficiency in civil engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project, Primavera 6, etc.).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
