Job Title: Construction Foreman
Location: Nigeria
Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Construction Foreman with at least 7 years of experience in the construction industry to lead and supervise site operations.
- The Foreman will be responsible for coordinating and managing all on-site activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of construction processes and safety regulations.
- The location is in Nigeria (Applicants from any location within Nigeria are encouraged to apply, but must be willing to travel outside their current location for work purposes.)
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily construction site operations, ensuring work is executed according to project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Schedule, coordinate, and supervise the work of site operatives, subcontractors, and laborers.
- Manage and maintain construction equipment, tools, and materials on site.
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and updates to senior management and stakeholders.
- Train, mentor, and supervise new and junior workers on-site.
- Resolve conflicts and problem-solve to maintain smooth site operations.
- Ensure timely ordering and replenishment of materials and equipment.
- Prepare and maintain accurate site reports, including progress and safety documentation.
- Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations and conduct regular safety meetings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project plans to guide work activities.
- Delegate tasks effectively and monitor crew attendance and productivity.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of practical experience and proven competence in construction site supervision.
- Proven ability to manage construction crews and coordinate complex projects.
- Skilled in scheduling, resource allocation, and project management.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Relevant certifications such as Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS), Site Supervisor’s Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS), or Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) are advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- In-depth understanding of health and safety standards and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
- Willingness to travel outside your current location for work assignments.
