Job description: Job Description:Our client is an indigenous oil and gas company in Nigeria.Job SummaryThe Corporate Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing internal and external communication strategies that enhance the company’s reputation, brand, and stakeholder engagement. This role oversees media relations, crisis communications, content creation, and executive communications, ensuring consistency in messaging across all channels.Key ResponsibilitiesCommunication Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans aligned with corporate objectives.
- Ensure brand consistency in all messaging, visual identity, and communication channels.
Media Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media outlets, and PR agencies.
- Draft press releases, media advisories, and handle press inquiries.
Crisis Communication:
- Serve as the point of contact for crisis communications.
- Develop and execute crisis communication plans, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
Internal Communications:
- Create and disseminate internal communications to improve employee engagement.
- Collaborate with HR and leadership to support internal campaigns and announcements.
Content Development:
- Oversee the creation of high-quality content including speeches, newsletters, reports, social media posts, and web content.
- Coordinate with graphic designers, copywriters, and external consultants when necessary.
Digital & Social Media Management:
- Develop digital communication strategies to enhance online presence.
- Oversee the company’s social media channels and monitor engagement.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Support strategic communication with stakeholders including customers, regulators,
partners, and investors.Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field.
- Master’s Degree or relevant certification (e.g., CIPR, IABC, PRSA) is an added advantage
- Minimum of 6–8 years’ experience in corporate communications, media relations, or public relations.
- Proven experience managing communication for large organizations or high-profile projects
- Industry-specific experience (e.g., oil & gas, energy, telecoms, finance) preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficient in content management systems (CMS), social media tools, and analytics platforms.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
