Job Title: Credit Control Manager (FMCG – Manufacturing)
Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full-time
Objective
- To manage and control the company’s credit and collections processes, ensuring timely collection of receivables, minimization of bad debts, with strong alignment between sales growth and cash flow objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement credit control policies, procedures, and strategies across divisions.
- Monitor accounts receivable, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding debts.
- Lead collection drives and implement action plans to reduce debtor days.
- Ensure compliance with company policy, IFRS standards, and statutory regulations.
- Supervise and mentor credit control staff.
- Review and approve customer credit limits in collaboration with sales and finance.
- Prepare periodic credit risk reports for management and board review.
- Liaise with sales and legal teams to resolve disputes and enforce credit agreements.
Qualification / Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
- Professional qualifications ICAN/ACCA qualification preferred
- Minimum of 8 – 10 years’ post qualification relevant experience in credit controls, and receivables management, preferably in FMCG.
- Proven track record of improving collections.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment and financial analysis.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management abilities; effective communication
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems (SAP/MS 365).
- Excellent leadership and team management and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity.
