Job Title: Electrical Foreman
Location: Rivers
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate a team of electrical technicians, overseeing all electrical tasks on the offshore installation.
- Read and interpret detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical manuals to plan and execute electrical work.
- Ensure that all electrical activities, including the installation of cables, lighting, panels, and motors, adhere strictly to project quality requirements and safety protocols.
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to the electrical team to improve skills and ensure correct procedures are followed.
- Ensure that all personnel under your supervision are following proper safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and all relevant permits.
- Lead by example to foster a strong safety culture and ensure all team members understand their responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate records of all electrical activities, including equipment installation logs and maintenance reports.
- Coordinate with other trades and supervisors on the platform to ensure a seamless workflow.
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical work in progress and completed installations to ensure compliance with standards and to identify any potential defects.
- Coordinate with the QA-QC Supervisor to facilitate inspections and the final sign-off of completed work.
- Manage the allocation of tools, equipment, and personnel to optimize workflow and meet project schedules.
- Monitor and track the progress of all electrical activities, reporting on daily accomplishments and any issues or delays.
Requirements
- Education / Professional Certification: Relevant technical diploma or trade qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical installation and maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Specific Bonga Offshore Experience is a must.
- Proven experience with a variety of electrical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, motors, and control systems.
- In-depth knowledge of industry codes, standards (e.g., IEC, NEC), and quality control procedures related to electrical work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot electrical issues and ensure quality.
- Good communication skills to effectively report progress and coordinate with other teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a challenging offshore environment.
- Must hold valid offshore certifications such as BOSIET, OSP, and a valid medical certificate.
- Expert ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong leadership and team management skills to direct and motivate a crew of electrical technicians.
