Job Title: Engineering Draftsman

Location: Uyo, Akwa Ibom

Job Type: Full Time

Summary

  • The Engineering Draftsman is a skilled professional responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans based on the specifications provided by engineers, architects, and other professionals.
  • These drawings are blueprints for construction, manufacturing, and various engineering projects.
  • The role requires a strong understanding of technical drawing principles, knowledge of industry-specific software, and the ability to translate complex information into clear and accurate representations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed drawings of architectural and engineering designs from sketches and specifications. 
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to incorporate design requirements into drawings.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting during the construction or manufacturing process.
  • Manage documentation and filing systems for drawings and project records.
  • Conduct site visits to gather data and verify design specifications are being met. Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders. Reporting Line
  • Review and revise drawings to meet project specifications and standards.
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify drawings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and materials.
  • The Engineering Draftsman will report to the Spare Parts & Planning Manager

Qualifications

  • BSc Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • Certification in drafting, engineering technology, or any other related field.
  • Experience with building information modeling (BIM) software.
  • Strong understanding of architectural and engineering principles.
  • 1 or 2 years of working experience.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks. 

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Extensive knowledge of various production processes.
  • Good organizational skills
  • High-level technical competencies
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and industry standards.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or industry.
  • Strong mathematical and technical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings. 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Fluency in IT (MS Projects, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
