Job Description
- As a Fibre Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fibre optic networks, ensuring the infrastructure meets the required quality and safety standards.
- You will work closely with the engineering team to ensure smooth operations and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and maintain fibre optic cables and associated equipment
- Perform fibre splicing, termination, and testing of fibre optic cables
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on fibre networks
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and reports
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental guidelines on-site
- Provide support to clients and contractors as required
- Troubleshoot and repair fibre optic systems and network issues
- Ensure the fibre network infrastructure is installed according to company specifications and industry standards
Qualifications
- Relevant technical certification or diploma in Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- At least 2 years of experience in fibre optic installations and maintenance
- Knowledge of fibre optic splicing, termination, testing, and fault-finding
- Experience working with various types of fibre optic cables and network components
