Your Impact
- As the Finance Systems Manager, you will provide strategic and technical leadership in the development, optimization, and governance of Pathfinder’s global finance systems.
- As a key driver of digital transformation within the Finance Division, you will align technology solutions with organizational goals, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure financial data integrity across Pathfinder’s platforms including Serenic Navigator, DATABASICS Time and Expense, and related systems.
- Reporting directly to the Global Finance Director, you will oversee end-to-end financial systems processes, drives systems innovation, manage complex cross-functional projects, and provide expert consultation to internal stakeholders.
- Additionally, you will supervise the Finance Systems Officer, build capacity across global teams, and serve as the primary liaison with software vendors to ensure Pathfinder’s systems are modern, scalable, and responsive to business needs
Key Responsibilities
Process and Application Technology Solutions and Cost-Effective Implementations:
- Independently conduct complex analysis of system and procedure challenges.
- Research and identify new products, and features of current applications that create operational efficiencies.
- Lead the design, evaluation, and continuous improvement of Pathfinder’s finance technology landscape to ensure alignment with evolving business strategies.
- Conduct high-level diagnostics of system workflows, data structures, and user pain points to identify and implement transformative solutions.
- Assess emerging technologies, propose new tools, and drive innovation that enhances data accessibility, user experience, and automation.
- Partner with stakeholders across Finance, HR, IT, and Operations to define system capabilities that promote efficiency, standardization, and compliance.
- Translate complex business requirements into effective, scalable technical solutions.
- Determine future application capabilities based on existing designs and business objectives.
- Evaluate key business issues and identify technical solutions meeting stakeholder expectations.
- Work with stakeholders and recommend strategies to optimize financial and information system.
- Identify and support automated processes by reducing manual functions.
- Ensure application solutions are aligned with finance system objectives, meet stakeholder requirements, and enhance user experience and productivity.
Systems Management:
- Oversee the management of employee onboarding and offboarding in Serenic Navigator, DATABASICS Time and Expense.
- Manage the setup, use, and reporting of employee personal time off benefits in DATABASICS Timekeeping.
- Oversee process and approve labor and benefit corrections in DATABASICS and Serenic.
- Serve as a service agent on the Finance Systems Help Desk.
- Serve as a resource supporting project, country statutory, and organization audits.
- Process month-end close MER allocations and support global financial close process
- Oversee fund streams and multi-dimensional coding structure, to ensure continuity between Serenic Navigator, and DATABASICS Time and Expense.
- Manage system validation rules in Serenic Navigator, and DATABASICS Time and Expense.
- Oversee fiscal year-end closure in Serenic Navigator.
Documentation & Knowledge Management:
- Oversee the development, standardization, and global dissemination of user manuals, SOPs, and training materials.
- Ensure continuous optimization and relevance of Serenic Navigator, DATABASICS Time and Expense, and Global Travel Systems
- Oversee a Finance Systems Analyst in creating finance systems user manuals and training videos.
Vendor and Stakeholder Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary liaison with external vendors for issue resolution, performance reviews, and system enhancements.
- Negotiate and manage service-level agreements (SLAs) and ensure vendors meet Pathfinder’s quality and security standards
Project Management & Implementation:
- Project facilitate Finance Systems implementations and upgrades.
- Facilitate a project including kickoff, requirements gathering, project planning and oversight of project team.
- Manage projects within the approved budget. Provide updates on project status, timelines, and risk.
- Liaise with vendors keeping scope, deliverables and expectations aligned.
Team Leadership and Capacity Building:
- Directly supervise and mentor the Finance Systems Officer, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development.
- Act as a technical escalation point, helping to resolve complex system issues and promote problem-solving capabilities within the team.
- Champion continuous learning and user competency across global staff, including organizing training or refresher sessions where needed
- Set performance objectives, monitor progress, and foster an inclusive, high-performance work environment.
Requirements
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management, or related field, or equivalent, or a combination of education and experience that yields the required competencies
- 10+ years working in finance, accounting, or finance systems field with four years of hands-on supervision of one or more staff.
- Have solid communication skills, well-developed technical expertise, ability to manage workload and responsibilities, either on a solo or teamwork basis.
- Work experience with a multinational organization; preference for Asia and Africa.
- Experience with Serenic Navigator ERP, DATABASICS Timesheets and Expense.
- Problem resolution experience requires strong analytical skills, sound judgement and ability to work effectively with likeminded business partners and third parties.
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, to include listening, verbal and listening skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work experience in international Finance and Accounting in an organization of at least $50M in revenue with multiple international offices.
- Proven writing and speaking skills using English, Portuguese, Arabic and French languages
- Experience with Power BI and Jet Reporting.
- Work experience with Serenic Navigator ERP financial system.
- Work experience with procurements, grants, and contracts.
