Financial Operations Advisor at Natcom Investment and Development Company Limited (trading as NTEL)


NTEL, is a Nigerian telecommunications company that launched as a 4G LTE provider in 2016. It was formed after NATCOM Development and Investment Limited (NatCom) acquired the assets of the defunct NITEL. NTEL aims to redefine the Nigerian telecommunications landscape by offering high-speed internet access and clear voice over LTE. NTEL aims to deliver its services across the largest possible network coverage in Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Financial Operations Advisor

Location: Lagos Island, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Execute daily cash movement activities among the company’s bank accounts, ensuring optimal liquidity.
  • Monitor all cash transfers, investment instructions, and daily bank activities.
  • Develop cashflow forecast templates to aid critical decision making in Treasury

  • Develop various reports to aid critical decision making in Treasury and for the company
  • Ensure all lodgments reflected on bank statements are accurately captured on the Accounting System (ERP).
  • Analyze and compute interest income due to the company and prepare appropriate journals for ERP capture.
  • Monitor and report on key financial risks, including interest rate risk and foreign exchange risk, and control operations in foreign currencies.
  • Ensure adherence to company financial policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate and timely capture of all payments and receivables on the Oracle ERP system.
  • Verify and ensure all payments effected through the banks are accurately captured on the accounting system (ERP)
  • Perform investigation and analysis of exceptions and ensure data integrity within the financial systems.
  • Prepare and update key financial operations reports (e.g., daily cash position, bank activity reports, collection reports, transactional risk reports, revaluation reports) to aid effective decision-making.

Education / Certification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Professional Certification in Accounting(e.g., ICAN, ACCA, CPA, CFA or similar) is required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in a finance or accounting role, with specific exposure to financial operations, treasury operations, cash management, or accounts payable/receivable functions.
  • Experience in processing a high volume of financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting, journal entries, and general ledger operations.
  • Proven experience working with and navigating Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) for financial transaction processing and reporting.
  • Experience with specific banking platforms or treasury management systems.
  • Demonstrable experience in performing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.

Competencies:

Knowledge:

  • Strong foundational knowledge in financial principles, accounting standards, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of local financial regulations and tax laws (e.g., CBN guidelines, FIRS regulations in Nigeria).
  • Knowledge of Financial Regulatory & Compliance
  • Knowledge of financial markets and investment strategies

Skills:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expert in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Meticulous accuracy in recording and verifying financial transactions.

  • ERP & System Proficiency.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
  • Ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and troubleshoot discrepancies (e.g., in reconciliations).
