- Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, or a related field
- ICAN/ACCA certification (in progress or completed) is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of CBN guidelines, internal control frameworks, AML, KYC, and risk management practices.
- 5 years’ experience in financial operations or accounting, ideally in a banking environment, other financial institution or fintech.
- Strong knowledge of microfinance banking operations and regulatory requirements.
- Hands-on experience with accounting and core banking software
- Proficient in Excel and financial data analysis.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professional integrity.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily financial operations, including transaction processing, end-of-day reporting, cash reconciliation, and settlements.
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of transactions and maintenance of the general ledger.
- Manage bank and GL reconciliations, including core banking system vs accounting records.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and regulatory submissions (e.g., CBN, MPRs, CRMS, NDIC).
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to support daily banking operations.
- Process payments, staff payroll, and statutory remittances (e.g., taxes, pensions).
- Implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Assist in setting up financial systems, policies, and processes in line with CBN requirements.
- Support budgeting, variance analysis, and financial performance tracking.
- Support internal audit preparation and implementation of audit recommendations.
- Liaise with auditors, regulators, and service providers as needed.
