Job Title: Fire Safety Officer

Job Description
- The Fire Safety Officer is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive fire safety policies, procedures, and practices to safeguard lives, property, and the environment within the factory premises.
- The role ensures compliance with fire regulations, proactive risk assessments, and the promotion of fire safety awareness among all employees.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and periodically update fire prevention and protection strategies tailored to factory operations and risks.
- Conduct audits and fire risk assessments across all areas, including chemical and flammable material storage; recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Investigate all fire-related incidents and false alarms to determine root causes and provide recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
- Plan, organize, and deliver fire safety training to employees, contractors, fire marshals, and safety marshals.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all fires, false alarms, and associated debriefs and lessons learned.
- Support the development and review of Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) for employees requiring assistance.
- Ensure all data handling related to fire safety is confidential and compliant with data protection laws and corporate standards.
- Uphold a safe working environment in accordance with health and safety policies and practices.
- Keep training materials current and ensure all training records are accurately maintained.
- Organize regular fire drills and contribute to the training of emergency response teams in collaboration with the Health & Safety Manager.
- Assist in the development of emergency response plans, fire evacuation procedures, and fire safety policies.
- Promote awareness and best practices in fire prevention across all levels of staff.
- Oversee the regular inspection, testing, and maintenance of firefighting equipment, fire alarms, signage, and emergency exits.
- Monitor the effectiveness and condition of fire doors and automatic fire detection and alarm systems.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Fire Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
- Strong communication and training delivery skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical abilities.
- Certification in fire safety, firefighting, or emergency management is highly desirable.
- 3 – 5 years of experience in fire safety within an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of local fire codes, safety standards, and risk management principles.
