Where our people are cared for, happy and inspired in building an extraordinary place to work.Job SummaryThe Finance Officer is responsible for supporting the financial health of the organization by managing accounting tasks, financial reporting, budget monitoring, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (including Nigerian tax and financial laws). This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of financial systems, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
- Prepare journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and assist in month end
- and year-end closings.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of accounting records.
- Financial Reporting
- Assist the finance manager with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial
- reports.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Cash & Bank Management
- Manage petty cash and perform regular reconciliations.
- Monitor bank transactions and ensure timely bank reconciliations.
- Handle payments to vendors and staff (e.g., salaries, reimbursements).
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure timely remittance of statutory deductions (PAYE, VAT, WHT, Pension,
- ITF, NSITF, etc.).
- Prepare and file tax returns as required by the Federal Inland Revenue Service
- (FIRS) and State Internal Revenue Services.
- Support external audits and regulatory inspections.
Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Implement and enforce internal financial policies and procedures.
- Support risk assessment and mitigation efforts.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial data.
Support Functions
- Provide financial support to other departments and project teams.
- Liaise with banks, auditors, tax consultants, and vendors as needed.
Education & Certification:
- B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- professional certification ICAN or ACCA.
- Minimum of 3–6 years of relevant experience in finance/accounting roles.
- Experience with Nigerian tax laws, payroll systems, and statutory remittances.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Excel).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Candidate must reside in Ikeja or its environs
