Employment Type: Full-timeAbout the Role
- We are seeking a results-driven General Manager with strong engineering, leadership, and project management experience to oversee and coordinate the entire operations of the company.
- The ideal candidate will hold a COREN certificate, be a registered member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and possess a minimum of 6–7 years of experience in construction, oil & gas, or refinery sectors.
- This role is pivotal to driving strategic growth, improving efficiency, ensuring operational excellence, and winning new contracts.
- You will report directly to the Managing Director and have full oversight of all departments and personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Coordination:
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day operations across all departments
- Supervise the Operations Manager, Service Manager, Business Development Team, and Training Units
- Oversee the Confined Space Entry (CSE) and LOTO Training Center operations and drive client engagement
- Act as the central reporting point for all staff and departments
- Schedule and chair weekly management meetings
- Collect and review weekly reports from all staff and departments.
Project & Contract Management:
- Drive worksite mobilizations, project startups, and ensure timely completions
- Lead technical and commercial presentations to clients and prospects
- Oversee and execute the full contract lifecycle: bid submission, award, mobilization, and delivery
- Ensure quality delivery and compliance on all projects
- Recruit and supervise key personnel as needed.
Sales, Marketing & Business Development:
- Ensure daily and weekly marketing of services, training programs, and solutions
- Oversee development and distribution of promotional materials: flyers, videos, animations
- Work with the marketing and design team to maintain a consistent brand image across the website, social media, and CRM
- Build and sustain strong customer relationships
- Track leads, client engagement, and conversion metrics.
HR, Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
- Lead recruitment, training, and outsourcing services for client staffing solutions
- Ensure proper maintenance of company assets, IT infrastructure, and tools
- Coordinate all industry regulatory permits and certifications including but not limited to:
- Federal Ministry of Labour
- Lagos State Safety Commission
- DPR
- IRATA
- LEEA.
- Develop and implement internal HSE procedures and supervise compliance.
Reporting & Financial Oversight:
- Ensure timely submission of operational, sales, and finance-related reports
- Work with finance to monitor cash flow, budget adherence, and expense control
- Recommend improvements based on data-driven analysis.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline)
- COREN certified and NSE membership is mandatory
- Minimum of 6 – 7 years of experience in engineering operations, project management, or general management in construction, oil & gas, or refinery sector
- Proven experience managing teams of 15 or more direct reports
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- High proficiency in project scheduling, resource planning, and client-facing presentations
- Knowledge of digital marketing tools, CRM platforms, and social media strategies
- Proactive, results-oriented, and self-driven with a strong ownership mindset.
Compensation & Incentives
- Base Salary: N500,000 per month (N6,000,000 Annually)
- Performance Bonuses:
- Daily/Weekly/Monthly bonuses for worksite mobilizations, project completions, contract awards, and new client acquisition
- Discretionary quarterly and annual performance bonuses
