Job description: Job Description:Job Summary:As the Harvest Manager at Dangote Sugar Numan Operation, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the harvesting process within the sugar production unit. You will lead the harvesting team to ensure efficient and timely harvesting operations while maintaining quality and safety standards.Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, organising and Coordinating the Department’s Operations.
  • Efficient manual cane cutting and mechanical harvesting
  • Cost Control
  • Ensure compliance of SOP.
  • Obtain approvals from CE & GMD.
  • Maximum supply of best quality of cane to the factory
  • Production reports
  • Coordinate the Harvest Workshop, Transport and factory Operations by liaising with the various Sectional Heads and HODs.
  • Overall responsibility for efficient operation of the company harvest, loading machineries and equipment including cost control
  • Ensuring highest quality of cane manual cutting and mechanical harvesting.
  • Directing workflow by allocating tasks and setting work priorities to the sectional heads.
  • Ensuring that operators are at their best level
  • Liaising with the Training Unit of the HR Department to ensure staff are well trained and their skills properly harnessed.
  • Ensuring that work standards, plants/equipment operational status conforms to existing professional standard and legal requirements.

Requirements:Key Requirements:Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 15 years’ cognate experience within the agricultural or sugar production industry.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of sugarcane production and harvesting processes.
  • Proficient in the use of harvesting machinery and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
