The ideal candidate will have a strong entrepreneurial mindset, strategic thinking abilities, and a proven track record in launching and scaling brands in the personal care or FMCG sectors.Reporting to: Managing DirectorResponsibilities/Accountabilities:Strategic Sales & Marketing Leadership· Develop and execute a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy to drive revenue growth and market penetration in West Africa.· Identify and capitalize on market gaps and trends to establish the company as a market leader.· Build and lead a high-performing sales and marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.· Oversee brand portfolio development, ensuring a strong and competitive presence in the market.Market Expansion & Distribution· Establish and strengthen relationships with key distributors, retailers, and partners to expand market reach.· Develop and implement a broad distribution strategy, ensuring product availability across multiple channels.· Conduct market research and competitor analysis to optimize pricing, promotions, and positioning strategies.Brand Management & Consumer Engagement· Drive brand awareness and consumer engagement initiatives, leveraging digital and traditional marketing channels.· Ensure brand consistency and alignment with customer preferences and regional market dynamics.· Lead the development of innovative marketing campaigns that resonate with diverse consumer segments.Performance & Revenue Growth· Set and monitor KPIs for sales and marketing performance, ensuring alignment with business objectives.· Optimize sales processes, marketing spending, and return on investment across campaigns.· Develop and manage the sales and marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective strategies for growth.RequirementsExperience & Qualifications· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.· 10+ years of experience in a sales & marketing leadership role, preferably in personal care, cosmetics, beauty, or FMCG sectors.· Proven expertise in market entry strategies, distributor management, and brand building.· Strong experience in digital marketing, e-commerce, and retail expansion.Skills & Competencies· Strategic thinker with strong market analysis skills.· Proven leadership & team development experience.· Excellent negotiation & relationship management abilities.· Data-driven approach to sales and marketing decision-making.· Resilient and adaptable to fast-paced and evolving market conditions.· Regional expertise – operates across multiple markets in Africa and emphasises regional knowledge and cultural understanding.· Strong English skills – both written and spoken; French as an additional language will be preferred.· Entrepreneurial mindset – thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.· Results-driven – proven ability to drive revenue and market share growth.· Strong communicator & negotiator – builds long-term partnerships with distributors, retailers, and stakeholders.Benefits
