- The Head of School (Blended Curriculum; Nigeria/British) is responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day management of the international primary school.
- This includes fostering a safe, inclusive, and academically challenging environment, ensuring curriculum standards, managing staff, and building strong relationships with students, parents, and the broader school community.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management:
- Provide visionary and strategic leadership to uphold the school’s mission and values.
- Lead the implementation of a Blendedcurriculum (Nigeria/British).
- Supervise and support teaching and administrative staff.
- Promote professional development opportunities and staff well-being.
Academic Excellence:
- Oversee curriculum planning, teaching standards, and student assessment.
- Monitor and evaluate academic performance and implement improvement strategies.
- Encourage innovation in teaching and learning practices.
Student Development and Well-being:
- Promote a student-centered culture that supports academic, social, and emotional development.
- Ensure effective safeguarding policies and procedures are in place.
- Maintain discipline and a positive school climate.
Communication and Community Engagement
- Foster effective communication between the school, families, and the wider community.
- Represent the school positively in public and at events.
- Promote a culture of collaboration and transparency.
Administrative and Financial Oversight
- Manage school operations, resources, and budgets effectively.
- Ensure compliance with legal, health, and safety regulations.
- Contribute to strategic planning and school improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Master’s degree in Education
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, with at least 3 in a leadership role.
- Teaching qualification and relevant leadership certifications.
- Experience in an international school setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with international curricula (British, Cambridge,).
