Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) is a professional institute established by Act 105 of 1992 as a not-for-profit organization to provide training for professionals in stockbroking, securities and investment, fund and portfolio management, asset management, investment management, and other related fields. It is also responsible for the regulation and discipline of members of the profession. CIS is an affiliated member of APBN and an active member of Association of Certified International Investment Analysts (ACIIA) based in Switzerland. 

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head, Research & Development

Location: Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • This strategic role involves developing CIS’s research agenda, leading publications (e.g., Nigerian Stockbrokers Magazine, JSIM), and producing evidence-based insights to support policy, innovation, and best practices in Nigeria’s securities and investment industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead high-impact research, policy papers, journals, and reports.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, institutions, and researchers locally & internationally.
  • Manage physical/electronic libraries and support the commercialisation of research.
  • Oversee market analysis and global capital market trend monitoring.
  • Drive technical development, knowledge sharing, and advocacy efforts.

Requirements

  • PhD or MSc in Economics or a related field.
  • Deep knowledge of Nigerian capital markets and global financial trends.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, writing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • 10+ years’ experience in capital market research, policy, or technical analysis.
  • Track record of quality research, publication, and policy influence.
