We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer

Location: Ilorin – Kwara and Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Work Mode: Mon- Fri

Responsibilities

  • Incident investigation and reporting.
  • Hazard identification and risk assessment.
  • Emergency preparedness and response.
  • Workplace inspection.
  • Implementation of company HSE policies, protocols and regulations as applicable to the industry.
  • Induction training, daily toolbox talk.
  • Weekly and monthly HSE reports.

Education and Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Professional HSE certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, ISPON, or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the same role, preferably within the construction, manufacturing, oil & gas, or industrial sector.
  • Additional certifications in First Aid, Fire Safety, or Risk Assessment are an added advantage.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of HSE regulations, risk management, and environmental compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong observation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools and safety management software (where applicable).
  • Proficient in conducting safety inspections, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to identify potential hazards and recommend practical, effective preventive measures.
  • Good report-writing and documentation skills.
