Historically, we are positioned as the first commercially operated smart card manufacturing plant in sub-Saharan Africa with the ability to manufacture Poly-carbonate Cards amongst other card types.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Health, Safety & Environment Officer
Location: Oshodi – Isolo, Lagos
Role Responsibilities
- Daily Inspection, to stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy within the work environment.
- Address areas of non-conformance to Workplace Safety and Health standards through corrective actions daily.
- Ensure quarterly inspection of the emergency exit doors.
- Ensure quarterly cleaning of our facility drainages.
- Conduct monthly risk assessments and enforce preventative measures.
- Daily Inspection of premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment)
- Oversees proper disposal of production waste.
- Ensures a tidy waste area.
- Issuance of permit to work to all external contractors.
- Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
- Review different aspects of project management based on safety and environmental compliance requirements.
- Facilitate discussions on HSE reports and findings.
- Initiate and organize HSE training for employees and executives.
- Conduct learning activities to enhance HSE standards and practices (Security Awareness Training)
- Develop measures to enhance organizational awareness of environmental protection.
- Ensure compliance with environmental protection policies and procedures.
- Ensure timely payment of regulatory bills.
- Ensure quarterly replenishment of the first aid box.
- Weekly housekeeping report
- Monthly Incident Report (Near miss & Accident).
- Monthly first aid report.
- Generate a report on areas of non-conformance to HSE standards to determine reasons for non-conformance.
- Formulate solutions based on analysis of HSE weekly reports.
Educational & Professional Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree and relevant professional qualification in a related field.
- ISPON HSE 1-3 & NEBOSH
- Minimum of 2-5 years of progressively responsible experience from a multinational organization.
