We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: HSE Officer

Location: Rivers

Responsibilities

  • Enforce the project’s HSSE plan, policies, and procedures on the offshore platform or vessel.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and project requirements.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions to promote a strong safety culture among all personnel.
  • Monitor environmental conditions and activities to prevent pollution and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Act as a point of contact for all HSSE-related issues and concerns on-site.
  • Liaise with the onshore HSSE team and client representatives to report on site safety performance and address any issues.
  • Lead by example to drive safety awareness and assure safe workplace practices are followed at all times.
  • Lead the investigation of all incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure all personnel, including contractors, comply with mandatory HSSE procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain and update all HSSE documentation, including permits-to-work, risk assessments, and incident reports.

Requirements

  • A relevant professional certification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is required, and a Degree in a related field is an advantage.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience as an HSSE professional, with at least 4years specifically in an offshore oil and gas environment, with a proven track record of working on the Bonga FPSO.
  • Proven experience implementing safety programs for maintenance, construction, and turnaround projects.
  • The candidate must hold valid offshore certifications such as BOSIET, OSP, and a valid medical certificate.
  • This position requires working in a challenging offshore industrial environment on platforms or vessels

  • Strong knowledge of HSSE regulations, standards, and best practices in the oil and gas industry.
  • Leadership skills to promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and implementing HSSE policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to work in a demanding offshore environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train, influence, and communicate with a diverse workforce.
  • Strong ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills for maintaining accurate records and reports.
