We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: HSE Officer
Location: Rivers
Responsibilities
- Enforce the project’s HSSE plan, policies, and procedures on the offshore platform or vessel.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and project requirements.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions to promote a strong safety culture among all personnel.
- Monitor environmental conditions and activities to prevent pollution and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Act as a point of contact for all HSSE-related issues and concerns on-site.
- Liaise with the onshore HSSE team and client representatives to report on site safety performance and address any issues.
- Lead by example to drive safety awareness and assure safe workplace practices are followed at all times.
- Lead the investigation of all incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure all personnel, including contractors, comply with mandatory HSSE procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain and update all HSSE documentation, including permits-to-work, risk assessments, and incident reports.
Requirements
- A relevant professional certification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is required, and a Degree in a related field is an advantage.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience as an HSSE professional, with at least 4years specifically in an offshore oil and gas environment, with a proven track record of working on the Bonga FPSO.
- Proven experience implementing safety programs for maintenance, construction, and turnaround projects.
- The candidate must hold valid offshore certifications such as BOSIET, OSP, and a valid medical certificate.
- This position requires working in a challenging offshore industrial environment on platforms or vessels

- Strong knowledge of HSSE regulations, standards, and best practices in the oil and gas industry.
- Leadership skills to promote a proactive safety culture.
- Proficiency in interpreting and implementing HSSE policies and procedures.
- Willingness to work in a demanding offshore environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train, influence, and communicate with a diverse workforce.
- Strong ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills for maintaining accurate records and reports.
