Job Title: HVAC, Utility and Facility Technician
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
- Responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of the facility’s utilities, HVAC systems, and general infrastructure.
- This role involves conducting routine maintenance, promptly diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and ensuring that all building systems operate efficiently to support occupant comfort, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities
Utilities Maintenance:
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on essential utility systems, including:
- Electrical systems (e.g., lighting, power distribution)
- Plumbing systems (e.g., fixtures, drainage)
- HVAC systems
- Water treatment systems
- Compressed air systems
- Cold rooms and other utility infrastructure
- Maintain accurate records and logs of maintenance and inspection activities.
- Support the repair and replacement of utility equipment and components.
- Escalate major technical issues to the supervisor for further troubleshooting and resolution.
- Monitor energy usage and promptly report anomalies or inefficiencies.
HVAC Maintenance:
- Replace air filters and clean coils in HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Inspect ductwork for blockages, leaks, or insulation issues.
- Support installation and removal of temporary or portable HVAC systems when necessary.
- Lubricate motors, bearings, and other moving components.
- Check and adjust refrigerant levels where required.
Facilities Maintenance:
- Perform general repair work on building structures and components such as doors, windows, and fixtures.
- Assist with minor renovation tasks, including painting, carpentry, and general upkeep.
- Identify and report safety hazards or facility-related concerns to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Replace and maintain indoor and outdoor lighting systems (e.g., bulbs, fittings).
Requirements and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- ND, HND, or BSc in Engineering, Facility Management, or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 2 years of practical experience in:
- Utility equipment operation and maintenance
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good documentation and reporting skills
- Physical fitness, manual dexterity, and ability to lift and carry moderate weights
- Familiarity with safety standards and compliance procedures in facility operations.

- Energy usage monitoring and reporting.
