Job Title: Junior Accountant
Location: Lagos
Job Description
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Accountant to join our finance team.
- The ideal candidate will assist with daily accounting tasks, financial reporting, reconciliations, and supporting month-end and year-end processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
- Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including posting transactions and maintaining ledgers.
- Help maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Support monthly bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
- Prepare and organize supporting documents for audits and compliance checks.
- Perform any assigned duties to support the finance team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (minimum of 2:1).
- 0 – 3 years relevant work experience in accounting or finance (not more than 3 years experience).
- Good communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Student membership/professional certifications with ICAN, ACCA, or CFI are an added advantage, but not mandatory.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
