Lead Process Engineer at International Energy Services Limited (IESL)


International Energy Services Limited (IESL), established in 1990, is a specialist, multidisciplinary, energy services company that provides integrated, client-focused and cost-effective services in the oil and gas industry.

We are recruiting suitable candidates to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Lead Process Engineer 

Location: Lagos

Job Purpose / Objective

  • To provide leadership in the design, development, optimization, and implementation of process systems for oil and gas production facilities.
  • Ensures that all engineering activities are compliant with regulatory standards, project specifications, and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilties

  • Perform, coordinate and supervise all process engineering activities and development of process deliverables.
  • Perform project man-hour estimation, review budget and maintain schedule throughout the life circle of the project.
  • Ensures that deliverables are produced to the correct level of quality and in accordance with project plans and procedures.
  • Perform and review equipment sizing e.g. vessel sizing, PSV, pump sizing, etc.
  • Prepare and review process simulation with software such as HYSYS, PIPEPHASE, FLARESIM and PIPENET.
  • Communicate effectively with the discipline team and project stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships within IESL, with its clients and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and participate in PHA, HAZOP and HAZID workshop.
  • Prepare and review process documents (datasheets, reports/studies and calculation notes) and drawings (P&ID, PFD etc.) on projects.
  • Prepare and review major process deliverables such as basis of design, process description, process design philosophy, safe chart, etc.
  • Set basis/template for process calculation and simulation.
  • Performs any other given task assigned by Lead Engineer.

Key Results Areas

  • Quality/Accuracy of process deliverables (calculations, report/studies, simulations and drawings) – expected accuracy/quality of work should not be less than 40%.
  • Timely delivery of assigned tasks and deliverables – expected turnover on deliverables/task should not be less than 40%
  • Knowledge Acquisition – Willingness to learn and take on new/more challenging tasks/deliverables.
  • Compliance with HSE and quality requirements on projects.
  • Taking Initiative/ Problem Solving – Ability to take initiative and provide/ask for solutions/suggestions/assistance when problem arise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering related or discipline
  • 12 years minimum relevant work experience
  • Professional/ chartered Engineer (or equivalent).

Job Specifications:

  • Understands all matters related to planning, project progress/delivery and reporting
  • Compiles/develops plans for the development and issuing of the process deliverables in accordance with specification and contractual requirements as well as safety, operability, maintainability and constructability aspects
  • Participate coordinate and supervise the delivery of process drawings, documents and reports.
  • Must have knowledge of process software such as HYSYS, PIPEHASE, FLARESIM, FLARENET, and PIPENET.
  • Ability to effectively lead and co-ordinate a team.
  • Ensures interaction with other disciplines for all interface and effectively co-ordinate process engineering activities with the project and client.
  • Must be abreast of latest industry design codes and standards and their application.
  • Must have knowledge of industry equipment sizing techniques e.g. vessel sizing, PSV, pump sizing, etc.
