Job Description
- We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Officer to join our growing tech company.
- As a Legal Officer, you will provide critical legal support to the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, assisting with contract management, and helping manage various legal matters related to our products, services, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including software licenses, vendor agreements, NDAs, partnership agreements, and other commercial contracts.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant privacy laws.
- Support the legal department in managing intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, and licensing agreements.
- Help manage dispute resolution, including handling pre-litigation matters and coordinating with external legal counsel.
- Maintain and update legal documents, templates, and agreements to ensure compliance with changing laws and industry standards.
- Provide legal support in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other business development activities, as needed.
- Keep up to date with emerging legal issues related to technology and the tech industry, including privacy, cybersecurity, and intellectual property law.
- Research and advise on various legal issues related to technology, including software development, SaaS agreements, cybersecurity, and technology licensing.
- Provide legal guidance on product development, regulatory requirements, and risk management for new technologies and services.
- Assist with corporate governance, shareholder agreements, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; qualification as a legal professional.
- years of experience working in a corporate or technology-focused legal environment.
- Strong knowledge of technology law, data privacy regulations, IP law, and general corporate law.
- Detail-oriented, with a strong ability to draft and negotiate contracts and agreements effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong research and analytical skills to resolve legal issues and develop practical solutions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders clearly.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with legal matters in the tech industry, particularly around software licensing, SaaS, and intellectual property.
- Familiarity with dispute resolution and managing legal matters in a global context.
- Proficiency with legal management software and document automation tools.
- Knowledge of emerging technology areas, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and data security.
