Job Title: Legal Officer, Dispute Resolution
Location: Ikeja, Lagos
About the role
- We are seeking an experienced lawyer to join our Legal team’s Dispute Resolution unit.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and strategic guidance on matters related to commercial, corporate, and financial laws.
- This role requires a strong understanding of the financial industry, along with the relevant laws and regulations that govern it.
Key Responsibilities
- Litigation Management: Oversee, review, and provide expert legal advice on all court processes received by the company.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor legal and regulatory developments, advising the organization on their implications.
- Regulatory Engagement: Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies, ensuring seamless communication and compliance when required.
- Documentation & Record-Keeping: Maintain an organized record of all legal documents and data for easy retrieval and reference
- Legal Research & Compliance: Conduct thorough research on relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.
- Legal Advisory: Analyze legal issues, provide sound legal advice, and develop strategic solutions to address them effectively.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate administrative agreements and other legal documents to protect the company’s interests.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law and Certificate of Call to Bar
- 4-5 years relevant legal experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Knowledge of commercial, corporate and financial laws
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Advisory skills
