- We are seeking diligent and customer-focused Loan Officers to evaluate, authorize, and recommend approval of loan applications.
- The Loan Officer will play a critical role in helping clients access financial services while minimizing risk for the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively source potential clients through fieldwork, referrals, and digital channels.
- Interview loan applicants to determine financial eligibility and feasibility of granting loans.
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of applicants by processing loan applications and financial information.
- Advise clients on financial products, terms, and repayment plans.
- Maintain accurate records of loan applications, approvals, rejections, and disbursements.
- Perform risk assessments and analysis to determine loan terms and interest rates.
- Present loan proposals to management for approval where required.
- Monitor and manage a portfolio of existing loans to ensure timely repayment and resolve defaults when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, lending procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the loan process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
- Proven experience as a loan officer, credit analyst, or similar role (experience in microfinance, fintech, or traditional banking is a plus).
- Strong understanding of lending procedures, credit risk analysis, and financial documentation.
- Good negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- High attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with loan management software (LMS) is an advantage.
