Wadata Relief Care Initiative (WRCI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, and humanitarian and Developmental organization that strives for a just world that advances children’s rights and equality for girls and young people in Nigeria by promoting equitable governance and human rights. Established in 2018. WRCI started operations in 2019 and registered as a nonprofit making organization with Corporate Affairs Commission in 2023. In July 2009 the Boko haram insurgence began in the Northeast, and in 2011 the bandit Conflict in the Northwest escalated, the Federal Government announced interventions that affected the lives of the general population. To fight the insurgence/banditry to reduce its impact on the population, Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Nigeria collaborated to fight the insurgence’s menace. In 2018, WRCI launched activities to provide succour to people affected by the conflict and violence.

By addressing the root causes of poverty in Nigeria, WRCI strives to build sustainable communities where every child has access to quality education, safe drinking water, and adequate health facilities.

Job Title: Logistics and Procurement Intern
Location: Damaturu, Yobe

Role Overview
- The Logistics and Procurement Intern will assist in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of goods and services, supporting procurement processes, and maintaining inventory and logistics documentation.
- This role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in supply chain management or humanitarian logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the procurement of goods and services in line with WRCI policies
- Assist in organising and coordinating logistics for field activities
- Support documentation and filing of procurement and logistics records
- Support vendor sourcing, quotations, and purchase order preparation
- Help maintain inventory records and asset tracking
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Interested candidates should possess a BSc Degree.
- Must be based in Damaturu, Yobe State
- Basic understanding of procurement and logistics processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to WRCI’s mission and humanitarian values.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong organisational and time management skills
