We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Maintenance Officer

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

Facilities Maintenance & Repair:

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks on all hotel assets, including plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from all departments (Front Desk, Housekeeping, F&B) and guests.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faults in HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) units, especially critical for guest comfort in Lagos.
  • Ensure all furnishings, fixtures, and fittings in guest rooms and public areas are in excellent working condition.

Inventory & Documentation:

  • Manage and maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance work performed, including repair logs and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Work with the Storekeeper to requisition materials and verify the quality of incoming equipment.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with relevant Nigerian regulatory standards, particularly concerning electrical safety and fire codes.
  • Oversee and supervise external contractors and vendors when specialized work is required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure that all staff adhere to safety protocols.

System Operation & Monitoring:

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of crucial hotel infrastructure, including generators, inverters, boreholes, and water treatment systems.
  • Monitor utility consumption (electricity and water) and implement measures for energy efficiency and cost savings.
  • Conduct daily checks on fire safety equipment and alarm systems.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance, preferably within the hotel or hospitality industry in Nigeria.
  • Communication: Ability to clearly communicate technical issues to non-technical staff and management.
  • Physical Stamina: Must be physically fit to lift heavy items, climb ladders, and perform strenuous work as required.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proven expertise in multiple trades, including electrical wiring, plumbing, and general facility repair. Knowledge of diesel generators and water pumping systems is highly desirable.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and rectify faults.
