Job Title: Manager, Technical Store
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Department: Engineering & Maintenance
Reports to: Head of Maintenance
Role Description
- Responsible for Warehouse management within Air Peace Engineering and Maintenace Department to support Air Peace fleets requirements for aircrafts spares, while ensuring compliance with Air Peace and Regulatory requirements.
- Provides service to user departments in APL through system wide Warehouse management system, parts and services requirement for all Aircraft and Engines. Handles all higher-level necessary correspondence with procurement, MRP, maintenance, and logistics.
- Ensures the clearance of all problems in co-ordination with Inventory, Logistics, MRP, Maintenance, CAMO, Production, Inspection, and Workshop. Plans, supervises, and controls the activities assigned to his/her unit. Supervises and controls the personnel of his/her unit and appraises their performance periodically.
- Develops new policies and procedures governing his/her unit and discusses same with the Head of Supply chain before implementation. Co-ordinates with Procurement and Logistics and material planning regarding parts requirement. Manages activities and maintains APL and regulatory body requirement standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and ensure smooth running of Technical Stores and Logistics on 24-hour 7-day basis and ensure continuous material support to operations.
- Execute perpetual and annual physical stock taking and reconciliation to obtain and meet financial and Audit requirements.
- Monitor and implement quality control processes in each area of Technical Stores and develop culture of discipline and strict compliance with procedures.
- Communicate with internal and external customers on the availability of materials, limitation, and delivery delays.
- Review the audit and inspection reports, execute short term corrective action, and provide recommendations for long term corrective action.
- Establish strong and collaborative relationships with Maintenance, CAMO, Procurement, and other functional units.
- Adhere to the company safety, health, and environmental policy.
- Provide guidance, motivate, and develop staffs to achieve enhanced efficiency.
- Design and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track Stores performance and identify areas for improvement, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with Air peace and Regulatory requirements.
- Full responsibility for the data integrity of stock levels in AD Software and the lead in data clean-up-related projects.
- Maintain efficient and effective warehouse layout, space, and resource utilization.
- Develop and implement procedures and processes always related to safe custody and secure movement of all spare parts.
- Resolve Stores operational issues relating to administration, staff, escalations, and deviations.
- Identify and investigate any lost material. Determine the root cause and implement preventative measures.
- Undertaking such other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Head of Supply Chain.
Job Requirements
- Candidates should possess a B.Sc, HND or its equivalent from any higher institution
- Candidate must have 10 years work experience in a Technical Stores environment, preferably aviation industry.
- Must be an intermediate user of Microsoft packages; word, excel, power point.
- Must have an experience in using an MRP system, ability to use ADS will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 4 years at a Managerial Level
Skills:
- Experience in Change Management and Process improvement is essential.
- Leadership skill/Strategic thinking
- Understanding Human Factors within the maintenance environment is desirable.
- Demonstrable capability of effective performance management
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, administration, and time management skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with internal customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Quick learner with natural curiosity and the desire to achieve.
- Excellent communication, presentational, and negotiation skills across all management levels.
- Proven ability to employ analytical tools to improve performance.
