Job Description

  • The Material Clerk plays a critical role in ensuring smooth operations by managing the receipt, shipment, and stocking of materials and finished products while supporting production teams with supplies and inventory management.
  • This position involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, handling administrative tasks like documentation, and proactively resolving constraints to meet customer requirements.
  • With opportunities to flex across stockroom, shipping, and receiving functions, the role offers dynamic challenges and the chance to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Be the Logistics Maestro: Take charge of receiving, shipping, and stocking materials and finished products that fuel our business. Your organizational skills will keep everything running like clockwork.
  • Empower Production Teams: Pull parts, provide supplies, and proactively solve constraints to ensure it meet customer requirements. You’ll be the go-to person for keeping operations on track.
  • Master Administrative Excellence: Handle critical tasks like customs documentation, certificates of conformance, and generating reports. Your attention to detail will ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Build strong relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers, and departments like production, contracts, inspection, and finance. Your communication skills will drive seamless coordination.
  • Own Inventory Management: Manage material flow, perform cycle counts, release work orders, and act as the liaison between planning, purchasing, and receiving inspection. You’ll be the expert in keeping inventory optimized.
  • Flex Your Skills: Serve as a versatile operator across stockroom, shipping, and receiving functions, adapting to dynamic needs and challenges.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that received materials conform to technical specifications and that documentation is accurate and complete.
  • System Operation: Utilize inventory management systems, such as SAP, to record transactions and manage material data.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve any discrepancies found in material records or inventory counts.
  • Drive Operational Success: From managing WIP transactions to prepping boards for OSP and generating pick slips, you’ll be the driving force behind production and planning duties for key product lines.
  • Solve Problems and Expedite Solutions: Research and resolve shortages, manage order requests, and ensure timely delivery of critical parts. Your problem-solving skills will keep us ahead of the curve.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years experience with First Degree and other professional Certification.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in operating inventory management systems (like SAP) and other relevant software.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous accuracy in record-keeping and material verification.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain organized inventory records.
  • Physical Ability: Capacity to lift and move materials, and to work at heights, such as climbing a ladder.
  • Knowledge of HSSE: Understanding of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) policies and procedures relevant to the oil and gas industry.
  • Problem-Solving: Capability to identify and resolve issues related to materials and inventory.
  • Basic Arithmetic: Strong foundational skills in commercial arithmetic for inventory management.
