We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Materials Officer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilties

  • Coordinate and monitor the receipt, inspection, storage, issuance, and delivery of project materials to the required locations.
  • Ensure all material transactions are accurately recorded in the Material Management System (e.g. ERP platforms).
  • Liaise with procurement and logistics teams to track the movement and estimated time of arrival (ETA) of materials and equipment.
  • Verify Material Test Certificates (MTCs), packing lists, and other documentation for compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Maintain an updated Material Receiving Report (MRR) and ensure traceability of materials through correct tagging and storage.
  • Taking responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Intervening to stop unsafe acts and conditions in the workplace that could injure personnel or adversely impact on the environment.
  • Participating in daily, weekly, and monthly safety meetings.
  • Participating in U-See U-Act reporting, hazard identification, mitigation, orientation.
  • Making safety presentations as may be assigned by the HSE team.
  • Any other tasks may be assigned by the line manager.
  • Conduct periodic stock counts, inventory checks, and reconciliation.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC for inspection and acceptance of incoming materials.
  • Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate.
  • Identify and report shortages, damages, or non-compliance issues, initiating corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure materials are stored in compliance with HSE and project requirements, maintaining proper segregation and preservation methods.
  • Support construction and planning teams by providing timely information on material availability and shortages.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and statistics including material status, consumption trends, and forecast needs on a daily, weekly and monthly basis

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related Social Sciences Filed.
  • 4 – 7 years of relevant experience in materials management, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
  • Working knowledge of warehousing, logistics, preservation, and HSE requirements
  • Ability to work on-site or Project locations.
