Our teams are committed to supporting civilians’ victims of marginalization and exclusion, or hit by natural disasters, wars and economic collapses, by answering their fundamental needs. Our aim is to provide emergency relief to uprooted people in order to help them recover their dignity and regain self-sufficiency.The PUI Nigerian Mission has been officially opened in April 2016, with a focus on meeting urgent needs, including improving access to food commodities, primary health care and nutrition for Internally Displaced People (IDP) and host communities (HC) living in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC).

Job Title: MEAL Coordinator

Location: Maiduguri, Borno

Job Description

  • Under the supervisions of the Deputy Head of Mission for Programs the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Coordinator you will be responsible for guiding the overall MEAL strategy and implementation or related activities within projects while providing timely and relevant information to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy: You will lead the design and the roll-out of a sound and adapted-to-context MEAL strategy and operational guidance integrating cross-cutting issues (gender, protection, accountability, do-no-harm, community participation, disability, etc.).
  • Training and technical support: You will provide a methodological support to all program teams on technical questions linked to MEAL and cross-cutting issues such as: design of MEAL plan, quantitative and qualitative data collection, measure of indicators, complaint response mechanism, “do no harm” analysis, terms of references of internal and external evaluations etc.)
  • Accountability: You will make sure your department is cross-cutting and well integrated with all departments (functional links) as well as coherent with all coordinators and managers.
  • Human Resources Management: You will support training of program teams within your fields of expertise.
  • Knowledge building: You will contribute to institutional knowledge building and improvement of MEAL methods and techniques.
  • Monitoring and evaluation: You will look over the quality and relevance of internal monitoring and evaluation activities, recommendations and analysis produced by your department (studies, maps…).

Requirements

  • Education Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, Demography, Sociology, Research or a numeracy discipline, Project Management, International Development.
  • Knowledge and skills: Good analytical and writing skills, demonstrate willingness to improve own knowledge and skills by actively participating in any training sessions and capacity building activities, experience in donor requirement and expectations. Experience in M&E or Project Management
  • Computer skills: Knowledge of the MS office software (including Word, Excel, Outlook) and a good understanding of data analysis packages such as SPSS, Power BI, etc.
  • Work experience: At least three (3) years’ experience in similar field with NGOs.
  • Language skills: fluent in Hausa and English and Kanuri appreciated.
  • Other: Strong knowledge and experience in the use of ODK, KOBOCOLLECT, and COMM Care platform and mobile data collection

Salary

N1,313,250 Monthly.
